Picture a world where the dress chose you—that was the fantasy premise at last night's screening of Alice Rohrwacher's "De Djess, " the latest in miu miu iphone 5 case's series of all female-directed Female Tales shorts. The dress in mind? The new fifties-influenced, bead-embellished ivory jewel sucked from Miuccia Prada's John Waters–inspired, so-decadent-it's-trashy spring 2015 collection. This put, it turned out, was the star of the silver screen, which was screened to a crowd such as the likes of Maggie Gyllenhaal, Willem Dafoe, Virginie Mouzat, Michelle Harper, and more within the winding five levels of Sutton Place's private Water Club last night.
"When they said to make the movie, I was in the torre in Cannes that you see belonging to the movie, because it's the place where My partner stayed during the Venice Film Happening, " explained Rohrwacher, who landed 2014's Cannes Grand Prix because her dreamlike drama The Wonders.
